Today, while cleaning up my DVR system, I stumbled upon my favorite segments I collected over the years. One of them is this latest John Stewart interview on “Larry King Live”. I could honestly laugh at this clip every single time, even when I watch it three times in a row. It shows how clever Stewart is, realizing that he can throw off Larry King anytime he wants to. He clearly succeeds in the end…

Die Wahrheit exisitiert nur im Singular
Im amerikanischen Kanal Comedy Central folgt jeden Abend auf die Daily Show, der Colbert Report mit Stephen Colbert.
Der Meister der Ironie nimmt in seiner Show die amerikanischen Meinungsmacher aufs Korn die sich Abend für Abend als die wahren Verkünder der Wahrheit outen.
Vor allem seien hier Bill O’Reilly und Sean Hannity vom Fox News Channel, aber auch Lou Dobbs und Anderson Cooper von CNN zu nennen.
Sehr erfolgreich ist man auf Stephen Colbert auch in Deutschland auf ihn aufmerksam geworden.
Der Spiegel schreibt auf seiner Website:
Doch für Stephen Colbert gibt es “keine Obergrenze für Blödheit - wir können es noch dümmer”. Also setzt er als selbstverliebter Weltinterpret mit gravitätisch gerunzelter Stirn, ausgestellten Ellenbogen und stechendem Zeigefinger im “Colbert Report” dem rückhaltlos rechthaberischen politischen Diskurs in den amerikanischen Medien ein satirisches Denkmal.
Im Artikel wird ein Interview mit dem Abgeordneten Wexler erwähnt, dem Colbert das ein oder andere Statement entlockt.

Colbert wurde in Europa wahrscheinlich vor allem durch seine Rede vor dem White House Press Corps berühmt, bei dem er als Hauptgast eine Rede hielt in der er natürlich über den Präsidenten spottete. Der einzige Unterschied zu seiner Sendung war, dass George W. Bush dabei genau neben ihm saß, da er ebenfalls zu dem alljährlichen Empfang eingeladen war.
In den USA muss man Colbert nicht mehr vorstellen. Der Mann ist ein absolutes Phänomen und man weiß in Interviews nie ob man es mit dem Comedian, oder mit der Rolle zu tun hat.
Colbert macht das einzig Richtige. Er verspottet Sender wie Fox News und Moderatoren wie Bill O’Reilly in dem er ihnen einen Spiegel vor das Gesicht hält und ihnen beweist wie lächerlich ihr auftreten ist.
“Most of all, I believe in this president. Now I know that there is some polls out there that say that this man has a 32% approval rating. But guys like us, we don’t pay attention to the polls. We know that polls are just a collection of statistics that reflect what people are thinking in ‘reality’.
